Autism is a global phenomenon: The Global Autism Project was started five years ago by Molly Ola Pinney of Dublin (NH), after she moved to Ghana to continue caring for a Ghanaian boy she’d met in Seattle while on assignment with the AmeriCorps. Thursday through Saturday of last week I was in Houston for a workshop with Tracy Gary and about 30 nonprofit professionals and a handful of financial advisors. In case you haven't been paying attention to the weather in Seattle (and why should you?), we have been having a heat wave. A "heat wave" by Seattle standards means temperatures in the high 80s, which melts Seattleites. (A perfect day in Seattle is 72--cool enough to play tennis or ride a bike.) The episode of Judge Judy with Latarian "Real Talk" Milton, his mom and his grandma, which was supposed to be taping out in California this week, has been canceled. Apparently, word got out that producers of the show talked the grandma into suing the mother, to get them to appear on the show. So Judge Judy went ahead and canceled the taping.
