Has anyone heard of giving heparin before gallbladder removal? If so why? SUSAN H asked: I am scheduled for surgery on Friday. The nurse called me and told me that I would be given a pre-op shot of heparin. I have had 2 prior abdominal surgeries and have never had heparin. I do not know of one person who has had heparin before gallbladder surgery. The Worst Isn't Over Yet: Foreclosure filings in the first three months of 2008 rose more than 112% over last year, according to a study released Tuesday. Real estate information firm RealtyTrac reported that nearly 650,000 foreclosure filings - which include notices of default, auction sales and bank repossessions - were issued in the first quarter.
